The Spindle Café is a brand identity concept. It is a small, fictional café located in Reno, Nevada. The café specializes in quality coffee, food, and pastries that are made in-house with locally sourced ingredients. Whether it’s a quick coffee to-go or a meal with friends, the Spindle Café is a place to unwind and enjoy quality coffee, food, and people.
I took a great amount of inspiration from mid-century modern designs, particularly from restaurant menus, logos, and illustrations from that period. They evoke a certain charm and nostalgia that I felt would fit well with this brand. I chose rich colors that felt very warm and inviting, yet also unique enough to stand out from local competitors. Additionally, I added organic textures such as kraft paper and stamp textures throughout the branding to keep a hand-crafted quality to the branding. Although this brand identity is very retro-inspired, it also feels modern and fresh for contemporary coffee drinkers.
